Material: Made from nickel-plated neodymium. Neodymium is a rare earth metal and is the strongest permanent magnet commercially available. Magnets will stick to any ferromagnetic surface, which includes metals that contain iron (such as steel), nickel and cobalt.

Maximum Weight: The maximum weight that can be held by the hook depends on several factors, including the mounting orientation (i.e. on a vertical surface or a horizontal surface) and the type / thickness / smoothness of the metal you are mounting it on. Attached to a vertical surface, the maximum weight is roughly 2/3 less than on a horizontal surface. Mount under a horizontal metallic ceiling or beam for maximum carrying capacity.
