Got this game for my nephews...it is really fun and flashy, but some things could have used improvement. The online is just atrocious, they should have improved it greatly before releasing this game. There are a lot of characters which is nice. Besides Jill/Shuma (which aren't that great IMO), the DLC is pretty crappy. I wish the arcade mode would be longer. Sometimes the game seems kind of hectic, but this is to be expected with MvC. The fighting is overall very fun and I like the stages.
Kinda feel ripped off that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is coming out so soon after this.
Intro: I'm a LONG time fan of the fighting game series and when the announcement for the game was done ALL of my friends who were fans and me jumped for joy. I pre-ordered originally from Best Buy and long story short they sold my copy, cancelled ordered one on here that was about $80, made me wait 3 weeks until telling me their supplier could not get them the game. So one last time on Amazon and I happily received my game [...].
Game play: The game play is a simple 3 vs 3 tag team battle. Players fight using teams of both Capcom and Marvel characters. First person to lose all health on all 3 characters loses or the one with the lowest life loses. Players can "tag in" their team members anytime, while their opponent also can forcefully switch their team by performing a "snap-back". The other team members not being used can be also used as an assist who can jump in for a moment (along with the character you have control over currently), perform a move of combo and...
The rigid addictive overblown 3 player action from MvC2 is replicated for a new era with MUCH easier controls -not even using the new "SIMPLE" scheme-. The mechanics of the game specifically an even easier to use special moves and combos set combined with hyper power make for an eye splitting screen filling joy in 720pHD. The character models, animations and voice work are some of the best ever seen in a 2D/3D fighter. Besides the characters from SSFIV the gameplay practically feels a bit lifted like the MISSION CHALLENGES and jumps in difficulty from MED to HARD, not to mention the use of ICONS and a player ID card etc... I am having a blast, I really miss the points and shop system of yore and the fun of unlocking a huge stable of fighters for various pt amounts. However what is here is polished and humming along down the FUN lane at a slightly slower pace than before. Is the SE worth buying? Only if you really value the 2 characters, the comic book includes some fun...
