Each device is assembled from a nickel-plated steel channel and a ceramic, ferrite magnet. On the side of the channel opposite the magnet, there's a strip of double-sided adhesive foam. These fasteners can be used like industrial magnetic tape, but they're much stronger. Each magnetic fastener has a flat base of 3" by almost 1". The sides are a quarter of an inch thick. The heavy-duty ceramic magnets have a strong pull of 22 pounds on contact. This magnetic pull was determined by a vertical test.
