The Mel Meter is specifically designed for Paranormal Research. This is the standard version of the Mel Meters. It measures AC Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) on a single axis and it measures the ambient temperature as well - both with a digital readout that can be viewed with a red night vision friendly back light. It also has High and Low recording function so you can walk away and come back and see what the highest and lowest EMF and Temp reading was for the period you were recording. The Mel also has a red led light at top which works as a night vision friendly little flash light to help you navigate in the dark. The Mel Meter has a flip stand and also comes with a convenient black carrying case. The Mel Meter is calibrated to measure Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) accurately in the range from the very low frequency of 30Hz all the way up to 300Hz. It has a burst mode function where one can focus all its power on EMF. During burst mode, EMFs are measured rapidly, nearing the performance of a K2 meter. One can choose to measure temperature in either F or C. Note: Does NOT come with a battery. The Mel Meter needs a brand name alkaline 9V battery to operate. The next step up of the Mel Meters from this Standard Mel Meter is the Mel-8704-ProNavigator which adds two feature: 1. Glow in the dark buttons 2. Expansion slot so that one can add features as needed such as REM POD function, Shadow Detection and Temperature Deviation Alert if one wants to add those later. Note: To get those two features you have to buy the Mel-8704-ProNavigator.
