The first book in this series covers the 170V W136. Launched in 1947, it was the desperate attempt by Daimler-Benz to step out of the ruins of WWII. The 170V was based on a 1936 design and earned the company sufficient funds to build cars such as the 300 Adenauer or 300SL. This guide looks also at a downsized version of the 170V, which was further developed when Daimler-Benz owned Auto-Union (Audi).
