Muhuhu Essential Oil (African Sandalwood) is extracted from the Muhuqwe tree, native to Tanzania and Kenya long the African coast. Muhuhu wood is used for flooring, and the scrap wood and shavings are steam distilled into essential oil. Muhuhu has a smoky and sweet Sandalwood aroma and can be added to most other oils for a smooth, dry, woodsy, and slightly sweet base note.

Muhuhu essential oil can be used for grounding and meditation practices, as the oil possesses calming, sedative, and root chakra balancing properties. Muhuhu is commonly used in aromatherapy to help alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression, while promoting an overall tranquil state of being.

As with other Sandalwood essential oils, Muhuhu is high in sesquiterpenes, which gives the oil emollient, tonic, sedative, and powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
