The Habanero pepper is a type of pepper named after the capital of Cuba, La Habana. Yet the pepper is most commonly cultivated in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico. This is supposedly because Cubans from La Habana immigrated to Mexico and brought the peppers with them. Of all common peppers, Habanero peppers have the highest concentration of capsaicin (the substance that makes peppers spicy). Habanero has recently grown in popularity because of its fruity, citrus like flavor and floral aroma, perfect for hot sauces and spicy foods. Lime (also known as Persian lime) is an aromatic, tart citrus fruit popular in virtually all Latin American countries, in much of Asia and many other regions. Monin Habanero Lime combines the tantalizing heat of Habanero and the tartness of lime in one exquisite Sweet Heat flavor sensation: tart, sweet and spicy.

Awesome for margaritas. Going to try the beer suggestion people gave here. Not a beer drinker either, but it's such a good tasting mix that it's worth a shot. Price is good considering you use so little for a drink. Remember this is a syrup too, it's not like your typical margarita mix where you fill the glass 2/3 with the mix. You use very little of this for the drink, so the bottle lasts quite a while. The expiration date was late 2013 too (we bought in Dec 2012), so plenty of time to use up. Got a Spicy Cilantro Margarita at Claimjumper, which is what made me start searching for habanero sryup. This one's great, and I'm sure there are many other tasty recipes with this stuff... bucket glass/ cubed ice 1.5 Sauza Hornitos Tequilia (we usually use any silver we have around, I'm sure would taste good with any though) .5 Cointreau (with Triple Sec still decent, but best with Coin) .75 Monin Habenero Syrup 2 oz Sweet and Sour 1 lime/ 4 cilantros (we...
I thought I knew how to make a good margarita. Then we made a trip to Marfa for our son's wedding and the bartender introduced us to the habañero lime syrup. It makes all the difference between a ho-hum ok drink and a 'WOWZER!' rita. I ordered 4 on Amazon.com and with my prime free shipping, it was a bargain to boot!
We use this syrup to make Habanero Lime Margaritas and they are delicious! I highly recommend using this syrup for margaritas or other drinks. Everyone we have made them for have love them also.
