Additional Information

Formed in 1964, the Moody Blues emerged as one of the most renowned bands of the psychedelic era. Between 1965 and 1973, the band had 7 Top-30 singles on the Billboard Pop Singles chart, including their classic "Nights In White Satin", which soared to #2 on the charts. After a 5-year hiatus, they returned in the late 70’s with several minor hits, until releasing "Your Wildest Dreams" in 1986, which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart (and went #1 on the Adult Contemporary charts).

The Moody Blues’ lone appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival occurred on July 3, 1991 at the Montreux Casino, while in support of their Keys Of The Kingdom album. The group (which includes long-time members Justin Hayward, Graeme Edge, John Lodge, and Ray Thomas) performs a number of their biggest hits, including "Gemini Dream", "Nights In White Satin", "I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock & Roll Band)", and "Your Wildest Dreams".

To hear the great Ray Thomas' uncut version of his fantastic Legend of A Mind, with the entire flute and keyboard segment, is worth the price of this DVD. I have seen the Moodies live over a dozen times and to hear Ray Thomas do his complete version is truly a magical experience. My Question to the Moodies is why for heavens sake did you not allow Ray to do more of his wonderful songs in your live performances? Sadly for all Moodies fans Ray retired many years ago and all fans will never have the pleasure of hearing his songs performed live again. You can read all the reviews of this DVD so I saw no need to repeat what most have said. However, to single out the "long" version of Legend of a Mind is my way of paying tribute to the great Ray Thomas. Thank you are truly missed. If you love that song, Legend of a Mind, as you have guessed I do, ahh the memories. Buy this DVD and enjoy the version that is truly THE VERSION.
I'm a long time Moodies fan - bought Days of Future Passed after hearing Nights in White Satin on the radio only once, and never having heard of them before that. I've seen them in person 7 times--the last without Ray Thomas and it just wasn't the same. The sound quality was o.k - I had to turn my sound up quite a bit, but the CD brings them close up and it was a great pleasure to see them all. This is for dedicated Moody fans and for those who have recently heard them without Ray. I'm glad I purchased it.
I recently purchased this DVD and I have to say I am a bit puzzled at some of the negative comments that I have read here. I have to wonder do I have the same DVD as these folks do? I thought it was great!! Yes there seemed to be some sort of technical stuff going on with the mics on a couple of the early songs, but it straightened itself out and sounded fine the rest of the show. But overall I thought it was a wonderful concert. I especially loved seeing John "show-off" his incredible rhythm while dancing about the stage before & during the encore of RMSS. IMO, this version of 'Ride My See-saw' is the best "modern" live rendition I have yet to see/hear. Justin was his usual great self throughout the show and it was so nice to see dear Ray still enjoying himself on stage.

I would definitely recommend this DVD!
