I've seen a few of these massage rollers, many of them a totally different style. Some of the massagers I've seen are handheld and small, but the Jumbl is large enough to use on wider portions of the body, yet work well on smaller muscles on the back of the neck. There are several purposes for the stick, among them to improve ones flexibility, aid in muscle recovery, and hit those trigger points. I've tried the Jumbl on different portions of my body and do find it more comfortable to use than the rollers with the nibs.
The roller can be used to work muscles in the legs, lower and upper back, arms, shoulders, and neck. The wide 1-1/4" handles are very easy to grasp and hold as they are lightly textured. There are seven evenly spaced 1-14" spacers that toll freely. I do notice when I use it on places such as my lower back, it loosens up those tight muscles.
The Jumbl massage roller is one that I'd probably keep at...
I know that it is not politically correct to fall in love with an inanimate object, but this Muscle Roller & Massager Stick has just swept me off my feet. Seriously, when we opened the package, it seemed too simple to be effective. So I set out to try it out (as did my husband). First of all, the only thing I don't like about it, really has nothing to do with the product, and more to do with my inflexibility. Using it on my own back takes flexibility that I don't think I ever had, but with an arthritic shoulder, it is darned near impossible. But that is it's only limitation, and since I have a wonderful, loving husband who will use it on my back for me (if I ask nicely), that solves that problem. But for every other body part, this stick is heaven. I get alot of different muscle spasms in my legs, and while I don't get them often, when I do, I can feel the knots for hours after waking. This stick gently works through those knots so that I don't feel like my calves were hit by...
My boyfriend and I call this the abacus massage stick. :) It really works well to take the knots out of your back and shoulder muscles. In fact, it can feel very intense when used to take out knots in shoulder muscles, that's where I carry most of my tension. It works better if you have someone use it on you. Sure, you can roll it on your own back and shoulders but you can't really lean into it the way another person can who is working on you. This is just like the hand rollers you see in stores but it's longer and easier to use the weight of your whole upper body to really get the knots out (if you are working on someone else). Definitely recommended for people who have intense muscular knots, it basically flattens and smooths the muscles.
