Both patches come with a coat of Heat Activated Adhesive® (our fancy name for Hot glue) that makes application of the patch easy with the help of a hot iron. Alternately you can also stitch the patch to the article you want to apply it to making for an even more secure hold. This latest version is even closer to the original patch.
