  • Once used primarily for fishing netting now works as a base for filet lace
Additional Information

Once used primarily for fishing, netting now works beautifully as a base for filet lace. While many lacemakers use commercially available varieties, Margaret Morgan wanted unique sizes and colors. So she began to make her own. Here she explains the equipment she uses and the traditional techniques she's gathered from old source material, and provides 40 patterns with instructions for creating different shapes and edgings. Use the lace for scarves, shawls, place mats, doilies, and even miniature items for a doll's house.

Love this book
Excellent book, has the whole 9 yards, great patterns to learn netting techniques and "stitches". With tis book and a bunch of practice you to can be netting great stuff. Really, it is a good book, the best I've found on the subject. Susi
I have knitted and crocheted for more than 50 years, yet had never heard of netting. When I reserved the book at my local library, I wrongly assumed it may be some twist on tatting. Reading the book, I learned that netting is lace making that is based on knots used by deep sea fisherman. It written well, with clear instructions and illustrations. I highly recommend it to someone who wants to learn a new style of lace making.
