I have read my share of Juniper and Cisco books. This ranks right up with the best of them and is essential for anybody who is or will be going through a merger or acquisition. Especially if trying to integrate a mixed vendor environment.

The authors put a lot of thought into the structure of the topics. Each section deals with specific technologies - IGP, BGP, MPLS, and VPNs. Each section has case studies showing how to leverage JunOS.

While I have worked with JunOS a fair bit, the single most valuable part of the book was the BGP section. Specifically in using the "local-as alias" feature to integrate IBGP without having to destructively tear apart the acquired network or use confederations.

My only wish is that the publisher would release a Kindle version. I'd buy a second copy just so I have it with me at all times.
This is an excellent book. All the actual examples are for JUNOS (Juniper routers), but the overall approach is applicable anywhere. I can't believe nobody else has reviewed this book. I don't have a single bad thing to say about it. If you are a network designer and part of what you do is working with implementation teams to develop implementation plans... then you need this book.
The book tell give us real practice scenario how to migrate or merge networks. If you want to take "real world experience" and understood "production methods" without trouble or fails on real networks - you need this book!
