These bags are ideal for making your own master grain spawn. Each bag contains 3lbs of pre-sterilized USDA Certified Organic millet in a filter patch bag. Each bag has a self-healing injection port for use with liquid culture. Millet is considered the gold standard of grains for mushroom cultivation because, unlike traditional rye and wheat, millet has a lower endospore load and is less prone to contamination. The small size of the grains also mean you get many more points of inoculation per pound of grain. Most growers find they can stretch their millet spawn more than spawn made with other grains.
