Romance novels are not usually my first pick -- I usually enjoy mystery books more. But this had a touch of mystery in the backgrounds of the characters. Granted, I wouldn't put it in the mystery category but I did enjoy the book. I also liked that it didn't preach but had references to prayer and going to church woven in the lives of the characters. But I stress - not preachy. I thought the characters were written well and there were no "misunderstandings" in the book. You know the ones -- that keep the characters apart and filled with angst and you wanting to slap them. I really dislike that and I am happy that was not in there. I liked the author's writing style so am happy to recommend this book. I would love to read other books by her but the prices were a bit higher than I can pay. I feel sure they are worth it but I just cannot pay $10 or $5 for an e-book.
