Unbuckling, she scooted over, face raising expectantly.

â€œCloser.â€

She leaned in and I smiled, shaking my head.

â€œMore, Meghan.â€

She bit her lip, staring at me. Swung her legs over the panel until she was straddling me, her legs wedged between the door and the stick shift, neck bent low under the carâ€™s ceiling.

I kept my hands down and loose on my sides. Watched the thoughts on her face - it was like a picture show. She wrote cinematic monologues with the flickers of her eyelids.

My heart swelled.

â€œCloser, Meghan.â€ Pushed my knees, rocking her toward me. Her shirt peeked open and I swallowed, letting the need show.

Her lips curved, soft and knowing. She took my face in her hands and kissed me.

It was a good kiss - sweet as a summer morning, full of promise, warmed with the startled intimacy of newfound love. Her lips and tongue brushed mine, a slow and sure dance as she explored the depths of me, basking and languid.

I pulled away and she smiled again, ruefully. â€œWas that 30 seconds?â€

â€œThat was 30 seconds of you touching me, Meghan. Now, it is my turn.â€

I brought her to me. Where she was sweet I was spice - the heat of summer, the sweat of it. The dangers of the fire and the delicious exhilarations of dancing with it, letting it flicker along your skin.

I kissed the underside of her chin, her jaw, trailing bites down her neck, each one stronger than the last until for the first time, I drew blood. Her back arched into it, shuddering, thrusting her pelvis desperately against my moving hand.

â€œMy god, Lia. Why do you make me feel this good?â€

Because, I want you to stay, Meghan. Because, I need you to trust me.

Because, I love you.
