This story is based on an actual event, a rescue operation jointly carried out by the Republic of Korea Navy and the Combined Maritime Forces, of the United States and the European Union. On January 21, 2011, a Korean merchant ship Samho Jewelry and twenty one innocent sailors were kidnapped by thirteen Somali pirates in the vicinity of Indian Ocean. Cheong-Hae(Blue Ocean) Escort Task Group(Korean Destroyer, UDT/SEAL, LYNX Helo) chased after the pirates and executed a rescue operation, named “Operation Dawn of the Gulf of Adenâ€
While depicting the full spectrum of the operation, the story brings the readers' attention to the nature demonstrated in the pirates' conflict as well as the broker's greed and shamelessness.
