Product Description
Opinel No. 09 INOX - Sandvik Stainless Steel Folding Pocket Knife, Beechwood Handle, 3.51 in Blade, Virobloc Safety Locking Collar, Made in France
- INOX BLADE: We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of Chrome and requires no special maintenance. Carbon content of at least 0.40% provides an excellent cutting edge and is easily sharpened
- LARGER BLADE, LARGER TASKS: No.09 Folding knife is great for larger tasks. Fold it up and stow it in a Toolbox, or in your backpack while camping. The large profile makes it ideal for bushcraft, large wood carving and longer cuts
- PATENTED VIROBLOC: A hallmark of Opinel everyday carry knives since its invention in 1955, the Virobloc ring offers a unique, thoughtful, and easy to use safety mechanism for locking the blade during use, during Transport, and during storage
- SUSTAINABLE BEECH HANDLE: Our selection of wood is precise and meets strict standards for social responsibility and the environment. We select beech wood from ecologically managed French woodlands in the Alpine region and Jura Mountains
- AN ICON OF FRENCH CULTURE: Produced in the heart of the French Alps since 1890, Opinel knives draw simplicity and durability from their mountain roots. Opinel kitchen knives have been adopted worldwide and recognized as a design Icon
The Opinel No9 size pocket knife is small enough for easy portability while substantial enough for larger cutting jobs. You can bring it along while camping or hiking, keep it in your desk for workday lunches, carve into charcuterie, cheese or a crisp apple, or whittle a stick for campfire s€mores. Locking the blade while opened or closed is easy with the Virobloc safety rings. Two sections of rings, one fixed and one sliding, allows you to twist the outer ring to secure the blade. Following a few simple instructions will ensure your knife lasts for years to come. You should hand-wash or wipe clean your blade after each use, wipe the blade dry, store in a dry place and keep out of damp conditions. Expect the wooden handle to swell or contract slightly with use; wood is a living material that can be affected by humidity and atmospheric conditions. If your blade feels stuck, use the €œOpinel knock€ (rapping the end of the knife on a hard surface) to loosen the blade slightly. You should grease the metal parts, including the Virobloc locking mechanism, on a regular basis. Versatile in its use, classic in its design and construction, the Opinel No. 9 has been carried and appreciated by generations.
