Martino Atangana has played guitar and sang on albums of artists from three continents, including Jean-Luc Ponty, San Fan Thomas and Paul Simon. Oyenga Fam is his first album presenting his skills as a singer, guitarist, composer, arranger, and producer. It is a blend of traditional and modern sounds, offering a wide variety of African rhythms including Bikutsi (Okon Makon, Oyenga Fam and Madjoban), Assiko (Mouvement Bantu) and Makossa (Okang'Alima) from Cameroon; Afro-beat (Dana) from Nigeria; Soukous (Tutu Yeah) from Congo; and Afro-pop (Nnam Africa). The songs are expertly interpreted by Martino Atangana on guitar and vocals, Azouhouni Adou on keyboards and vocals, Mamadou Ba on bass, Jojo Kuo on drums and Todd Horton on trumpet and flugelhorn.
