I set up my KX-TGP600 late in the evening recently (3 KX-TPA60 handsets and 1 KX-TPA65 desk phone) with VoIP.ms.
I'll start by saying that configuration of this phone system and its handsets will require some technology chops. Familiarity with VoIP concepts and terminology is a requirement, and it's probably NOT a good choice for those that think "Vonage Business" is an acceptable and cost-effective solution for business communications needs ;)
One of the complaints I read here was that the requirement to enable the embedded web server from the handset was a stupid idea. Of course, the security-minded among us will understand the reason for this feature: you rarely use the web interface, so why leave a potential point of vulnerability permanently available? And if you're NOT going to leave it permanently available (in keeping with good security practices), how exactly would you disable/enable it using a base unit whose only user interface is a single...
Works fine. Use with VOiP.ms.
This phone is a joke, no serious business person can appreciate the following downgrade from the TGP-500 model:
1. Buttons feel more flimsy and cheap 2. Buttons are placed too close together, making dialing errors increase. 3. # button now has a FUNC button directly under it, and when leaving voicemails, you end up hitting FUNC instead of pound to send the message, which obviously doesn't sent it, and you're stuck fumbling the phone all while the message is still being recorded, lol. How professional! 4. Less intuitive menu. To scroll through and redial missed or previously dialed calls is very confusing and various steps must be taken to get to the list. TGP-500 was a breeze with this. 5. Dialed #'s appearing on display are so condensed that it's confusing to read and see. 6. No noticeable sound quality improvement over the predecessor, what the hell is the point of this upgraded model?
The only "Improvement" if you can call...
