So I received my amp today, very very quickly.just in time for my birthday.that part was great.now for the not so great.although this amp is the same model as advertised, this one is probably left over from the 80's.it has none of the features advertised.this amp was listed as (like new)laughable at best.I will play it but feel misled.I turned down a Marshall mc15 for 20 more bucks on Amazon.should've spent the$20!
This amp is fantastic! If you're on the edge of buying it or not, buy it!
Let me clear this: I own the Blazer series and not the Rage, the only difference; Blazer has reverb.
So, on this amp you have INPUT and Co Input. On the INPUT, you have two channels, clean and lead. For the clean you have a volumd knob. It doesn't get that overdriven sound when cranked up, so keep that in mind. The lead channel has two knobs, Gain and volume. For a full distorted, metal sound you can crank the gain all the way to ten, but if you're looking for thag sweet, bluesy overdrive, pull back the gain to about 6 and give it a little more volume.
And that brings me to volume. It can get loud, no doubt. But if you plan on gigging in small venues with thus amp, plan to mic it up. However, if you and a rhythm guitarist, and maybe a bassist, want to get together, this amp will cut through. Bring in drums, however, probably not, unless your drummer is willing to beat...
I just bought one of these today used. Found it unexpectedly from an ad in a local shop and called the owner, bought it, thought I'd review it here. The one I got is in excellent condition, so reviewing based on that.
This amp has 2 inputs: 'INPUT" and "CD". In truth either one can be used as guitar in, with different results. The INPUT line has two options: Clean and Lead. Clean produces clear sound straight from the instrument, with a single volume / distortion control. Toward the higher end it provides a clean, pleasant distortion, but is loud and clean even at mid-level. Switch to "Lead" and there are pre- and post- gain control knobs. I'm not enough of an amp guy to know what the difference is... only what sounds good as I balance them. Suffice to say it sounds good. Player preference will be purely subjective.
It has two settings, "Modern" and "Vintage". I couldn't tell much difference between the two myself, but both settings were functional on...
