Pascalâ€™s religious conversion led him into a life of asceticism and the PensÃ©es was in many ways his lifeâ€™s work. The PensÃ©es represented Pascalâ€™s defense of the Christian religion. The concept of â€œPascalâ€™s Wagerâ€ stems from a portion of this work.
