Bought this because my granddaughter, with the aid of her stepstool, can now reach to turn the water on and I wanted to avoid her scalding herself. She LOVES the lighted water and she knows to keep her hands out of the red water and adjust it until the light is blue, and that green is good for drinking. People unfamiliar with its function presume that Blue is cold and Red is hot - kind of the universal color code for hot and cold, but this doesn't adhere to that code. When the water is cold, the light is green, when warm the light is blue, when hot, it's red, so, yes, it's as described. If I were to design it, it would be Blue= too cold, Green=good to go, and red= too hot. The light is bright enough to see during the day or in a lit room, and not so bright that it's overpowering in a dark room. It installed easily, thread was a direct fit to my faucet though yours may differ. The built-in hydroelectric generator is a bit on the noisy side but not so loud that it's...
I would have given a 2.5 rating if possible. Because of the flow rate and the size of the holes that the water comes out of, it splatters droplets all over the counter when fully on. After shutting the valves partially off below, now it's better but has very low flow to compensate for the first problem. The color scheme is weird, hot=red I get that one, green=cold huh? and blue=warm double huh? plus it flashes blue to red sometimes without really hot water. I wouldn't pay more than 7 or 8 bucks for this thing if I were you. It's thin plastic and I don't expect it will last too long.
Not my worst purchase, it's Kind of cool.
So far so good. Super fun! Fit my faucet without leaking. It's not too big.
