Philips 18-watt PL-L TUV PL-S Compact Fluorescent Non-Integrated (CFL-ni) lamps are compact UVC (germicidal) lamps used in residential water and air disinfection units. The compact size of the lamp allows for a small system design and design flexibility. TUV PL-L lamps have a protective inside coating that ensures contact UV output over their complete lifetime for maximum security of disinfection and high system efficacy. Thanks to the single-ended lamp base, lamp replacement is easy.

The lamp socket on the Honeywell duct or plenum mounted UV devices, a twist-in mounting fixture, may have two small raised keying bumps where the bulb base inserts. These new bulbs no longer have the keyway slots in the white bulb base and the bulb will not insert fully. The fix is to use a sharp utility or jacknife to carve away the two keying projections in the lamp socket. These are not required, there is no polarization need. It is quite easy to do, takes about 5 minutes, and can even be simplifed with a flush-cutting electronics plier tool, then using the knife for final trim. A small file may also be used to flatten the keys to conform to the surrounding internal surface of the bulb socket.
I should have read the other reviewers who posted that this light doesn't have any keyholes. I bought this to replace the UV lamp in my Honeywell furnace "disinfecter." The price was good (under $20) and the model # matched up exactly with the lamp that came with my system originally. I plugged the lamp in and nothing happened. Only then did I notice the Honeywell unit had two "keys" that were supposed to correspond with slots in the lamp base. I used a Dremel tool to zip slots in my brand new bulb and now it works just fine. The only thing I wonder about is whether or not there is a specific polarity? In other words, did I zip the slots in the wrong side of the bulb and put it in backwards / upside down? The bulb seems to be working so either the answer is "no" or I got lucky and guessed correctly...
Bought this as a replacement lamp for a Honeywell UV air cleaner (which takes Honeywell part RUVBULB1/C). The bulb fit my air cleaner perfectly out of the box. Unlike some other reviewers, I did not have to trim any tabs out of my air cleaner for the bulb to fit it (perhaps it depends when the air cleaner was manufactured?). Also, I took a look at my old Honeywell OEM bulb, and it very clearly has the same markings as the Philips bulbs, so it appears Philips makes them for Honeywell - you're getting the same thing at a fraction of the price. That said... Be conscious of where you order it from and check the seller's ratings. Make sure you're actually getting the Philips bulb and not some knock off. If you purchase direct from Amazon.com you should be safe though.
