This book is a complete guide to using the Sony DSC-RX100 III camera, one of the most advanced, but still pocketable, cameras available. With the publication of this book, author Alexander White provides users of the RX100 III with a manual covering all aspects of the camera. Using a tutorial-like approach, the book shows beginning and intermediate photographers how to accomplish things with the RX100 III, and explains when and why to use the camera's features. The book provides details about the camera's numerous shooting modes as well as its menu options for shooting, playback, setup, and special effects. The book covers all of the new features of the RX100 III, including its unique pop-up electronic viewfinder, tilting LCD screen, built-in neutral density filter, and enhanced capabilities for camera control and image transfer over a wireless network. The book includes more than 400 color photographs that illustrate the camera's controls, display screens, and menus. The images also provide examples of the photographs that can be taken using the RX100 III's Scene shooting mode, with settings optimized for subjects such as landscapes, sunsets, portraits, and action shots; the Creative Style and Picture Effect menu options, with a variety of settings for altering the appearance of images; and the camera's features for continuous shooting and shooting in dim lighting. In addition, the book provides introductions to more advanced topics such as infrared photography, astrophotography, and digiscoping. The book includes a full discussion of the video recording abilities of the RX100 III, which can shoot high-definition (HD) video with stereo sound, and which offers manual control of exposure and focus during movie recording as well as an upgraded video format, XAVC S. In three appendices, the book provides information about accessories for the RX100 III, including cases, external flash units, and filter adapters, and includes a list of websites and other resources for further information. The book includes an appendix with "quick tips" on how to take advantage of the camera's features in the most efficient ways possible. This guide to the RX100 III includes a detailed index, so the reader can quickly find needed information about any particular feature or aspect of the camera.

This is a COMPLETE guide (did I already say complete?) to everything there is to know about the camera. I bought it shortly after I got my RX100 III. Everything is explained in an orderly manner and all aspects of the camera are discussed-settings, menus, uses, and so forth accompanied by numerous example photos. Assuming you bought the camera already you will not go wrong with the book. These are not Cliff Notes, but the real deal, in great detail. I read the Owner's Manual twice before I decided to buy this book. Even SONY's Help Guide on line was not especially useful to me. I found it fragmented and jumped from section to section driving me nuts. But here is all the information you will ever need about the RXIII in one place and straight up. You will be amazed how much this camera can do, and what you can do to improve your shooting. No doubt an experienced pro could probably figure out all of this and find what he/she needed in the camera. But some of us, probably most of us,...
The information provided by Sony for this camera is not very good. This book is great to learn about all the features of this camera, it is easy to use and I have learned more in an hour looking through the book than hours spent trying to learn the camera with the Sony PDF manual. I like that it provides recommended default settings to start with and has made it easy to learn all the features of this camera. There is a simple overview and then very detailed explanations of all aspects of this camera. I highly recommend the book for anyone wanting to get the most out of their Sony DSC-RX100 III.
This is great book for people like me - who is never to become a photographer :)))) I think It would be totally suitable and understandable even for people who normally can not understand how to work devices. I'm not completely that type, but somewhat close to it :)))
Author explains everything in a very "user-friendly" manner. Sometimes in the beginning I would even get irritated a bit, that even the very basics are explained to the slightest detail. But after a while I really started to appreciate that feature. No wasted time to figure out what the author meant by that switch or button. Everything is extremely clear.
I would highly recommend the book to people who are far away from being experienced in the photography, but want to know how to use all (almost all :))) the great features their expensive new camera provides them with.
