I am a mom with two very fancy little girls, ages 6 and 8, who love to have their fingernails painted. I've always hated the thought of my kiddos putting their hands in their mouths after I painted their nails with traditional kid polishes. Not only did the ingestion of the chemicals worry me, but the smell nearly left me light-headed after painting two sets of fingernails and toenails. One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and "ate" through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other "kid" polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate. From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children's fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths. My quest was on, and Piggy Paint was born. Piggy Paint is specially formulated from God's natural ingredients and dries to a hard, durable finish. There are no toxic chemicals; it's free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone. Say good-bye to harsh, smelly chemicals and hello to Piggy Paint...it's as Natural as Mud.

Amazon was supposed to be sending me a Amazon Vine book on the partition of India, instead I got a tube of Piggy Paint nail polish. Since Amazon gave me the choice of keeping it, disposing of it, or donating it, I chose option A and decided to have some fun with it. It is a very pretty shade of pink and seems to go on fairly easily. I was able to do all my fingernails and have it dry within fifteen-twenty minutes. I have a disability that leads to fine motor problems which means anything requiring a delicate touch takes longer than it might the normal person. I did however make quite the statement when I showed up at the hockey game in my hometown, sporting pink fingernails. My mother just started laughing and shook her head.
All jokes aside, while it is quite easy to get the nail polish on the fingernails, it is not so easy to get it off. In some places, it chipped off, but where it didn’t chip off, boy howdy it is stuck on there good. Weeks later and following a...
I thought I would leave my review with some tips on this Piggy Paint item since you're probably seeking to make things last longer than a couple days with this one. I have found that using this set, I can get my manicure to last a week and pedicure to last two to three weeks without chipping. It generally looks and lasts better than my other premium polishes. In fact, it is almost a pain to take off compared to the others!
1. Buff smooth and use the base coat. I've found it is hard to get off so sometimes I just use regular base coat/nail conditioner for convenience. Any bumps will show as the polish dries unlike enamel which can really glop on and almost self-smooth. 2. To get a smooth finish, use less paint. This polish doesn't self-level like enamels so do not not use too much. Once you get used to painting with less polish, it goes on smoothly just like the regular stuff. Think more coats, thinner coats. 3. Love, love the topcoat. It is super strong, use two...
I know it's expensive and I know it chips off easily, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. Look, Piggy Paint is safe and non-toxic and if you want a nail polish that lasts for 3 weeks and shines like a diamond then go buy any run of the mill nail polish that's full of chemicals with names you can't pronounce.
Piggy Paint gets 5 stars from me. It comes in cute colors, has virtually no smell (whatever smell it has reminds me mildly of peanuts) and is entirely safe for your children to use.
Two things worth noting: I also ordered the pink but received a darker, almost purple color. Secondly, I accidentally dropped a bottle of this on our wood floors and it broke and spilled all over. The glass hardly slivered/shattered (easier to cleanup and no glass shards all over the place), and the nail polish was really easy to clean up off the floor.
