Act like a lady. Don’t swim in the waterfall. And whatever you do, never slip into the woods for a romantic, moonlit ride.
When a princess turns eighteen, she is not supposed to sneak away from her own birthday celebration with the first handsome prince she meets. But Pippa is not just any princess, and there is nothing she enjoys more than a moonlit ride through the woods. Only one thing could ruin a beautiful evening under the stars with Galinor, the dark-haired, blue-eyed prince of Glendon—and that’s her father tracking her down.
When King Ewan catches Pippa, he orders her to spend twelve days of confinement in the castle. This is an inconvenience for the princess, considering thirty princes and lords have come from all across the Kingdoms of Elden to fight in a tournament for her hand in marriage. Not willing to stand idly by while her fate is being decided, Pippa enlists the help of her childhood friend Archer, master archer of the kingdom. Together they make a pact to do everything in their power to ensure Galinor’s victory in the tournament.
But as the events progress and the stakes get higher and higher, Pippa not only begins to doubt Galinor's chances—she also realizes the tournament may be forcing her toward a future she no longer wants...
Set in a rich fantasy world, Pippa of Lauramore is a take-your-breath-away fairy tale romance with unforgettable characters, humor, and heart.

Very sweet, easy read. Pippa is a spirited young woman and easy to relate to. The simple summary for this tale would be that Pippa is having a large tournament for her hand, hoping that someone will beat out her current fiance' who is unfortunately very possessive and not quite so nice. Out of all of the gentlemen who arrive, she sets her eyes on one very handsome young man, hoping he will be the one to sweep her off her feet. However, in the background, the Master Archer, her archery teacher, seems to be a much more capable young man, certainly more capable than the Prince that Pippa is mad for!
The writing is precise, the characters are fleshed out, and the plot is rather simple. This makes for a good, 'feel happy' read on any given afternoon. My only complaint is that it became far too obvious to me how the story would end up...it was a lovely fairy tale ending. If you are looking for a very deep complex romance, complete with angst and a twisty plot, look elsewhere...
Princess Pippa finds herself about to be married off to a Prince she doesn't care for so she requests a tournament instead, where Princes and Lords from kingdoms near and far will compete for her hand. At her 18th birthday party, she picks out the prince she believes looks most likely to be able to win in the tournament against her cruel intended, and sneakily helps him in the tasks of the tournament, also enlisting the help of her good friend, the Master Archer. The prince Pippa has chosen to help turns out to be a very good and kind man, but Pippa soon realizes that she doesn't truly love him, and instead has fallen in love with someone who is below her station and therefore she cannot be with. While battling for love and helping with the difficult and sometimes dangerous tasks of the tournament, Pippa also faces other adventures including some family squabbles and her own kidnapping.
This was such a sweet and chaste book. Despite Pippa's somewhat despairing...
This time I am reviewing Pippa of Lauramore by: Shari L. Tapscott.
In the hope of getting out of marrying someone she doesn’t want to, Pippa convinces her father, the king, to put on a tournament for her hand in marriage. A little free-spirited, Pippa will do anything in her power to make sure the gallant Galinor beats Lionel for her hand. With the help of her childhood friend and master archer, Archer, she’ll get into more scrapes to control her fate. Trouble is, spending so much time with Archer reveals feelings she isn’t allowed to have.
I picked this book up originally because I loved the synopsis and I really needed a pick-me-up after reading a different book prior to this. I was not disappointed and I actually lost sleep over this book because I stayed up into the late (or early depending on your definition) hours of the night reading this. I could not put this book down.
I really loved Pippa and Archer. Well, really I loved all...
