Finished catapult measures approximately 3-1/4 x 2-1/2 x 6 inches (H x W x D)
The Pitsco Catapult Kit provides students in grades 6-12 a hands-on activity to build a model catapult that demonstrates the scientific concepts of force, tension, simple machines, and Newton's laws of motion, and it includes laser-cut basswood parts to build the model catapult. The kit includes instructions, laser-cut basswood parts, a rubber band, dowels, and modeling clay for forming projectiles of varying weights to launch with the catapult in projectile motion and trajectory experiments. The catapult demonstrates concepts such as vectors and potential and kinetic energy. The kit reinforces technology, engineering, and math concepts as students build and experiment with a model catapult. The finished catapult measures approximately 3-1/4 x 2-1/2 x 6 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) A catapult kit is typically used in an educational setting to demonstrate physics and simple machines.
Construction requires woodworking glue (such as Pitsco HD Bond glue), a toothpick or other small glue applicator (such as the Pitsco 59456 Glue Applicator Tip), waxed paper, facial tissues, and a pencil (all sold separately). Launching requires safety goggles (sold separately).
Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
Pitsco Education develops K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum, educational kits, and classroom tools. The company, founded in 1971, is headquartered in Pittsburg, KS.

This was a great little kit for a fun project with the kids! We had a blast building it and while it didnt last terribly long before the kids broke it, it was a great bonding session and amazing learning opportunity!
Great learning toy!
Don't get this. It is not easy to assemble and is made of cheap material. I purchased it for my 10 year old who is into engineering and robotics and even his experience with his dad's supervision- they broke it before they even got it together. Big disappointment.
