3.5 Quart capacity. Certified food safe by NSF. Dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe. This is the perfect container for your rising bread dough.
Comes with a tight-fitting lid, which expands its uses to great refrigerator/freezer storage for just about anything!
Once you have this container in your kitchen, it will quickly become a necessity and you'll find many more uses for it--such as a great container for brining chicken or shrimp because there will be no leaks or spills like with a plastic bag or a bowl.
Alton Brown recommends that you allow your dough to rise in a container with straight sides so that you'll be able to tell when it has almost doubled in volume. This is nearly impossible to do in a large mixing bowl with its narrow bottom and sides that slope outward to the wide rim at the top of the bowl.

3.5 quarts is this container's capacity. It is perfect for allowing dough to rise. I also use mine when I make homemade soup or chili in a big batch (doesn't take much more time with all the stuff out and the kitchen messy). And then, when I don't want to cook, I just just nuke it and sit on the deck instead of cooking.

As advertised. Reasonably sturdy. About the right volume for Artisan Bread but be careful as use of a little extra yeast will result in dough overflowing bucket. You will also need to drill a hole in the top for ventillation. I used a sharp pointed knife. If you can find a slightly larger diameter bucket you will have a greater margin of error. Delivery was delayed but this appeared to have been due to a post office SNAFU. Listed as shipped but then stayed in a waypoint for several days befor being delivered. Packaging showed some damage but none of this appeared to be due to supplier.
Great size and feels nice & sturdy. Nice to have a lid that fits well. Only downside is the height makes it difficult for short people like me to easily mix dough with the bucket on the kitchen counter. Easy fix is to place it on the table while mixing. I've made more bread since I've gotten the dough bucket than I have in the past year without it.
This is the perfect size for the "5 Minute a Day" bread baker. East to clean. Lid is nice and tight without being impossible to get off. Would be better if it were totally leak-proof. Fits well in my refrigerator. (But too "fat" for the door shelf.)
