- The air flow meter is a sensor in the engine's electronic control system.
- It measures the actual air flow (in terms of mass or volume) entering the engine in real time and transmits the data to the control unit.
- Hotline type / Hot film type: The flow rate is calculated through the heat exchange between the heating element (hot wire or hot film) and the air.
- Kármán vortex type: The flow rate is calculated based on the frequency of the vortices generated when the airflow passes through an obstacle.
- Installation sealing: The connection between the sensor and the intake pipe must be well sealed. If there is air leakage, the measurement data will be lower, causing an imbalance in the air-fuel ratio.
