HEAVY 2LBs! Unlike mass produced suction cup based boards that only stick to glass, my boards are heavy and can be used anywhere and on any surface. Handmade knot board and practice cord and built to last for your ENTIRE career.
BASIC TYING ARCH - Practice your one or two hand tying technique by throwing knots over and over again to you master the perfect square knot --> Then practice some more!
TYING UNDER TENSION - Can use any rubber band (2 supplied when ordered). The band attaches to 3 tension towers. The band can be positioned with increased tension for added difficulty to simulate tying against tense fascia or muscle layers.
DEEP TIGHT SPACE TYING - In surgery we often work in tight and deep spaces where it is critical to ensure a precise closure of critical structures such as blood vessels, ducts, and bowel. This depth cylinder allows you to practice this skill of throwing expert knots before that important case that could very well save someone's life. Features side cut outs to eaily remove suture or untie the practice cord after practicing.

WHY I MADE THIS BOARD: I built this board while I was a neurosurgery fellow in Boston, MA and I have a passion for teaching and inspiring medical students to fall in love with surgery. I invented the first version of this board for one of my medical students who after a case asked me how to improve his tying skills. They are requested by my co-residents in orthopedics, general surgery, Emergency Medicine, OB/Gyn, and of course our amazing medical students! I called it the Leo board not because "Leo" is my middle name but rather because Leo means strong, courageous, cunning, and creative which are all the qualities of a master surgeon.
