This is a brand new, high quality digital k-type thermometer for contact temperature measurements. This scientific thermometer is great for use in classroom in school, college or university and can be used on a large range of science projects. It can be used in chemistry, physics and earth science class. It displays the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. It has one input for K-type thermocouples and can display the temperature in 0.1° steps. The digital thermometer has a wide range of industrial and business uses as well. It can be used in HVAC trade to check air conditioners, heaters or furnaces with high precision. With the extended measurement range it is also great for industrial applications, metal working, science projects and the laboratory. This thermometer can measure very low temperature and also very high temperatures. It comes with one 3 ft (1 m) temperature probe TC-1, this has a green Teflon based FEP plastic insulation and works up to about 392°F (200°C) , and a stainless steel k-type insertion probe TC-3 with yellow handle that can measure up to 1292°F (700 °C), but any other K-type temperature probe with miniature k type thermocouple connector can be used. To use the thermometer for temperatures above 392 degree F you would need a special thermocouple with a fiberglass or ceramic insulation or a stainless steel probe.
