**Please note that the V-gouger is designed to be a bit "loose" straight from the factory, allowing you to adjust to your hand pressure and the leather.

Directions for use: Place leather on a flat hard surface. Turn the knob counter-clockwise to adjust blade depth down - it helps to put pressure on blade with finger to get accurate depth level. Use a scrap piece of leather of similar thickness as the work piece to make sure blade won't cut completely through the leather. When V-gouger is placed on leather, the weight of the tool will force blade to maximum depth level set. Pro Tip: Dampening the leather first, then scoring a guide line, and cutting slowly helps with control of the line.
