In "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" (1994) Robert De Niro plays the tragic, reanimated "Creature," in what has been considered the most faithful adaptation of the original novel. This facial appliance is an original accessory made for De Niro's character. The prosthetic appliance is constructed of cast foam latex rubber that covers the character's head, back of the neck, and the right cheek. It is expertly painted and finished for application. Short hair is punched throughout the crown, with black thread stitches applied to the left eyebrow and top of the crown. The appliance is affixed to a foam neck-and-head bust. The flashing and blending edges are intact and unused. It is in good condition, with age-related darkening in the rubber. The bust to which it is affixed exhibits minor wear.
This item is accompanied by a Planet Hollywood Certificate of Authenticity.
