The Stunning Conclusion to Jay Allan's Crimson Worlds Refugees Trilogy!

The Final Struggle...

A battered group of human ships, fighting for survival, fleeing deeper into the far unknown, pursued by the deadly forces of the genocidal artificial intelligence known as the Regent. A legendary commander, the man who has saved his people time and time again, struggling to lead the fleet ever forward, fighting through every attack the enemy throws at them.

A hidden world, a remote refuge prepared millennia ago, holding the promise of a new future - if the fleet can reach it and hold it against the Regent's relentless attacks.

Admiral Terrance Compton and his lost fleet battle their way forward, striving to reach the end of their great journey. They will fight with all the strength and power that remains in them, standing firm, resolute against all the force the Regent hurls at them. But their destiny is no longer in their hands. In the end the fleet's survival rests on the courage and strength of a tiny force of marines and a desperate mission - one that will lead this group of warriors right through the enemy's thickest defenses, to the very heart of the enemy's domains, the ancient home world of the First Imperium...and the inner sanctum of the Regent itself.

The action-packed conclusion to the Crimson Worlds Refugees series!

Satisfying end to the three book series.

But darn it .. (spoiler alert) .. one of my favorites, name not mentioned, died!!!!!!! That cost you a Star!!!! :) An Emotional response from me. You will have to read the book to find out who! After thought. New technology, new possibilities. How about bringing my favorite character back as a clone in future books?

Obviously, our heroes survive by the "nick" of their chins and establish themselves to gain from all the ancient technology left to them on "Earth2". Yes, I agree with some of the characters in the book. A better name for the planet could have been had."New Beginnings"? We could call it "NewBe" for short. :)

The foundation is set for a future trilogy and it will be interesting to see how many years pass when Book 4 comes out and how many of the characters we came to admire are around for the next trilogy. Ominous storm clouds are on the horizon.

I admit that I had to follow the series through to the end, but I hated to have to do it. I was really disappointed in the spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors that distracted from the flow. I became exhausted following the protracted character development, which I thought was far too drawn out. I found myself skipping over many passages of characters thoughts, bored to death of their drawn-out harangues, and wishing that i didn't have to pay for all that drivel. There were, however, some interesting spots that I enjoyed, particularly the thoughts of The Regent, and the nano-bot infected human characters.
I became tired of the continual "oh there's no hope, we are going to die, give it our best shot, can't let everyone down..." Crapola. This became so redundant ( you mean they still don't know what to do besides work harder, fly faster, shoot straighter, be better???) This went on and on and on, good lord I got sick of that.
Overall, I disliked the drawn out... Read more
My only complaint so far with this series is the FACT that Tritium is NOT found entrapped by planets. Tritium has a half life of less than 13 minutes. It is not naturally occurring and could never be found in quantities for use for any other kind of energy or weapons purposes. It must be created. That said, the Helium 3 CAN be used as a source of Tritium, once it gets exposed to the right energy neutrons.
The story line is interesting overall.
