This book examines ritual practices and public festivals in the Otavalo and Cotacachi areas of northern Andean Ecuador's Imbabura province. OtavaleÃ±os are a unique group in that they maintain their traditional identity but also cultivate a cosmopolitanism through frequent international travel.
