- Made from hardened and tempered high speed steel that that will keep a sharpened edge about six times longer than carbon steel and will resist "blued" softening from overheating during grinding or heavy use

This tool is rectangular in cross section giving it more weight and making it superb for spindle work e.g. newel posts and table legs. Recently modified by 'rolling' the edges slightly to help turners avoid catching an edge and to allow greater maneuverability. Made from high speed steel and then properly hardened and tempered. They will keep a sharpened edge about six times longer than carbon steel and resist "blued" softening from overheating during grinding or from heavy turning. They come with hard White Ash handles and brass ferrules. Handle is 12 inches long with the tool being 6 1/4 inches in length. Overall length is 18 1/4 inches.
