Applies to: New Mexico. New Mexico is famous for its spectacular prehistoric sites and cultural diversity. There are hundreds of rock art sites in New Mexico, and the author has chosen a few for this guide that have either convenient public access or have limited access which requires a tour or permission. Included are well-known petroglyph sites at Bandelier and at Petroglyph National Monuments. Lesser known are sites at Tome Hill and Puye Cliff Dwellings are also on the map along with several other areas. 2013
