Description of DBM12:Â The all new dB marine series of amplifiers gives you the best of both worlds! We took the sound of our best selling series of dB car amps and we added the best marine grade parts so that they will last forever and withstand even the harshest conditions on the water. We went a little overboard (no pun intended) to make this amp marine ready. We conformal coated the PCB board with a waterproof glue that is painted on to protect the circuitry. We then added waterproof silicone covers over the terminals so that water can never get into the amp. The heat sink, including the bottom plate, is made of aluminum which is rustproof. The end panels, all of the internal mounting screws and hardware of the amp are made of stainless steel and are rustproof as well. Even after many years of use the amp will be rust free and operate like new! One of the tricks to determine the real power of a marine amplifier is to multiply the fuse rating by 10 to determine the true RMS power. This formula almost always works within 20%. The dBM12 features a Maxi fuse with a rating of 60 Amps. Although we rate these conservatively at 500 watts CEA @ 2 ohms, this amplifier puts out more power than this!
