RETIRED - This Amelia Earhart bobblehead is part of Royal Bobbles' collection of historical figures. Amelia Mary Earhart was born in 1897. She is respected and adored by millions for her humble demeanor, drive, and determination, not only as an early pioneer of flight but also for women pursuing aviation careers. Earhart wore many hats during her lifetime. She was a published author, social worker, teacher, career consultant, and she helped found The Ninety-Nines, an organization of women pilots. Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean and received the United States Distinguished Flying Cross for that accomplishment. She also became a visiting faculty member at Purdue and taught aeronautical engineering and counseled female students. Unfortunately, she attempted to circumnavigate the globe in her Purdue-funded aircraft. Earhart and her navigator both disappeared over the Pacific Ocean and no one really knows what happened. This bobblehead shows Amelia Earhart in her iconic hat with pilot sunglasses, aviator jacket, pants, and boots. Although she disappeared, Amelia Earhart's imaginative spirit and ambition live on and our bobblehead is the perfect collectible for those whom she has inspired. All Royal Bobbles bobbleheads are about 8" tall and are made from the highest quality heavyweight polyresin. Each bobblehead is hand painted, making each one unique. Every Royal Bobbles product comes with its own unique serial number on the bottom of the base to indicate authenticity.
