- Compatible with Shelves Up to 7.25 Inches in Width: Although this kit uses 8 inch pipe once this pipe is assembled and screwed into the cap and flange you lose about .75 inches in usable space. Therefore the maximum shelf width that we suggest using for an 8 inch shelf bracket is 7.25 inches (if you want your shelf to rest on the pipe). If you have a board that is larger than 7.25 inches please consider purchasing one of our larger sized brackets.
