This updated edition of Sacred Places of Refuge addresses the rapidly widening gulf between the timeless truths of the Kingdom of God and the accelerating depravity and deterioration of the world. It also expands on life skills that will be necessary when prophesied conditions become a reality. Despite denial from many caught up in the worldâ€™s status quo, the scriptures make it clear that â€œThe Great and Dreadful Day of the Lordâ€ is on our doorstep. Nobody knows exactly when it will or will not occur. In Mathew 24: 36 the Savior tells us, â€œBut of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.â€ Various other scriptures tell us that it will come â€œas a thief in the night.â€ The best indication we have is in D&C 88: 73- 95, which makes it clear that it will come immediately after the fulfillment of the prophecy on the hastening of the work. The brethren have made it clear that this prophecy was fulfilled with the 2013 surge in missionary work. Hence, it only seems logical that those who purport to believe in the prophecies would be teaching and preparing their families. The number of sincere students of the prophecies is growing as latter day prophecies draw ever closer. Our objective continues to be banding together as people of the Lord, ready to take direction from our inspired leaders as the Lord sees fit to reveal it. In the meantime, we stand humbly and obediently prepared to the best of our ability for whatever challenges lie ahead.
