Amargasaurus is a sauropod (long-necked plant-eating dinosaur) that lived in what is now the Patagonia region of Argentina about 125 million years ago. It is the latest-surviving member of a peculiar group of elephant-sized sauropods called dicraeosaurids, the bones of which have so far been found only in South America and Africa. Uniquely among dinosaurs, the neck and back of Amargasaurus sported a double row of very tall spines that may have been used for display. Exactly what these spines may have supported - a pair of thin skin sails, a large hump, or some other structure - remains a puzzle to scientists.

These award winning dinosaur replicas are authenticated by the paleontologists of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, who houses the largest collection of dinosaur fossils in the world.
