Safari Ltd. Muskox Figurine - Hand-Painted, Lifelike Arctic Wildlife Model Figure - Fun Educational Toy for Boys, Girls & Kids Ages 3
Despite its name, the muskox is more closely related to the goat family than to oxen. These shaggy beasts move through the Arctic wilderness in herds of about 20 individuals. If one animal is injured, the herd will form a protective circle around it with their horns facing outward. Muskoxen are named for the strong odor they give off during breeding season. During this time, males are the dominant members of the pack, though the roles switch once females become pregnant. During that period, the females determine where and how far the herd will go during their daily travels. Like all Safari Ltd products, this figurine has been individually hand painted, features quality construction from phthalate and lead--free materials, and includes an educational hangtag in 5 languages. Realistic, educational, and fun, this figurine is suitable for a range of interests, including collectors, enthusiasts, teachers, and kids. Admire it on a shelf, use it in the classroom, or simply enjoy playing with it. The muskox figure is 4 ¾ inches long and almost 3 inches tall. Its fur is lighter brown on its back and shoulder hump, with much darker shades on its sides and head. Its legs are light brown, and its hooves are black. The horns are light brown with black tips, and the area around its black nose and mouth is white
