Safari Ltd. Sumatran Rhino Figurine - Hand-Painted, Lifelike 4.5" Model Figure - Fun Educational Wildlife Toy for Boys, Girls & Kids Ages 3+
The Sumatran rhino is the smallest living rhinoceros species and is notable for the reddish-brown hair on its body, unlike most other rhinos which are mostly hairless. Sumatran rhinos live only in Sumatra and Borneo, and are critically endangered. Sumatran rhinos, the only living members of the genus Dicerorhinus, are the most primitive of the rhino species alive today. It shares many of its features, like its hairy coat, with extinct rhinos, and is thought to be more closely related to the prehistoric wooly rhinoceros than to the other four modern day rhino species. Like all Safari Ltd products, this figurine has been individually hand painted, features quality construction from phthalate and lead-free materials, and includes an educational hangtag in 5 languages. Realistic, educational, and fun, this figurine is suitable for a range of interests, including collectors, enthusiasts, teachers, and kids. Admire it on a shelf, use it in the classroom, or simply enjoy playing with it. The Sumatran rhino figure is 4 ½ inches from nose to tail and stands just a hair over 2 inches tall. It's a bit longer than a deck of cards on its side and as tall as a credit card. This figure is reddish brown with darker brown accents on the hairy areas of its back, legs and sides. Its toenails and horns are grayish brown, with black on the eyes, nostrils and mouth.
