Safe Swallowing With Dysphagia: A Puree Cookbook For Dysphagia-Related Lifestyles was compiled for people facing dysphagia who need basic easy-to-make puree recipes. Although recipes do not indicate calorie counts or have a nutrition breakdown, they do provide a resource to be able to get into the kitchen and prepare dysphagia-appropriate meals. These are the recipes I prepared for my mother. They helped her. I wrote this puree cookbook as a promise to her and a labor of love, in an effort to help others.

In addition to puree recipes, Iâ€™ve included information about pureed foods and beverages for dysphagia, a listing of online resources for dysphagia, a list of support groups and a list of online resources for conditions that can be affected by dysphagia. Also included is information with lists of dysphagiaâ€™s possible causes, signs, and symptoms. There is an extensive bibliography of sources that I used in the research and writing of this puree cookbook.

This book is great! I love how the author uses her own experiences to help families comprehend this very overwhelming condition known as dysphagia. Sharonâ€™s personal knowledge helps families to understand the day to day difficulties in providing nourishing home made purÃ©e meals.
