About 150 saffron flowers produce 1 gram premium saffron. 225,000 saffron flowers produce about 1 pound superior saffron. Saffron is simply the king of spices and known as red gold. Saffron must be harvested only by hand on daily bases for about a month before sun light and heat burn the saffron stigma. Saffron is used in variety of Persian, Spanish, Italian and seafood dishes. it is growing in Khorasan Iran, Aragon Spain, Greece, India and Turkey. Saffron Stigma is about 2 inches and our premium saffron has only the top portion of saffron stigma. We recommend to use 3 stigmas on daily bases for health benefits.
