In the late eighteenth century,Â Johann Jacob SchweppeÂ developed a process to manufactureÂ carbonatedÂ mineral waterÂ based on the discoveries ofÂ Joseph Priestley. Schweppe founded the Schweppes Company inÂ GenevaÂ in 1783 to sellÂ carbonated water.Â In 1792, he moved toÂ LondonÂ to develop the business there. In 1843, Schweppes commercialisedÂ Malvern WaterÂ at the Holywell Spring in the Malvern Hills, which was to become a favourite of the British Royal Family through to the present day.

Mainstay Schweppes products includeÂ ginger ale,Â bitter lemon,andÂ tonic waterÂ (the oldest soft drink in the world.

The legendary soft drink, based on Jacob Schweppeâ€™s 1783 original formula. Made with quinine and other ingredients with 100% natural flavours.
