In this day of information overload, everyone wants access to all of their files everywhere. As a result of this desire, many cloud storage solutions have become available, including offerings from Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. The real issue with cloud storage is that after you have used your free space, additional space can become somewhat expensive. I bought this to store my collection of CDs so I could rip them and play them on my Sonos system without keeping my computer running or paying rent for cloud storage. I plugged it into my router, waited a few minutes, and there it was on my network. It's up and running with my Sonos with no problems. I'm happy.
