The SealSkinz Thin Mid-Length Sock for Women is for a multitude of activities where maximum breathability and calf length coverage are required. The socks are totally waterproof, breathable and windproof. The Thin Mid-Length Socks are SealSkinz lightest and are ideal for warm wet days. The socks have Merino Wool lining for moisture control and comfort. The elastic ankle and instep offer support and a comfortable fit. Socks have Merino wool content for extra comfort and increased moisture control. Merino Wool is finer than traditional wool with tiny overlapping scales that case each fiber; these scales are hydrophobic (water repellent). Inside it's a different story, the fiber core is hydrophilic (highly absorbent). Merino is therefore a wicking fiber and can absorb and release 10 times more moisture than synthetics. Each fiber can absorb up to one third of its own weight in moisture without feeling clammy or wet to the touch. In SealSkinz socks, the moisture is then wicked through the membrane to keep you feeling warm and dry. Merino wool has the ability to absorb and release moisture to cool or warm, regulating temperature. It also has excellent anti-microbial properties, helping reduce odor build up inside your socks.
