Similac Expert Care Alimentum for food allergies and colic due to protein sensitivity
Has a predigested milk protein that is broken down into tiny pieces to virtually eliminate allergic reactions in most babies allergic to cow's milk protein
For babies with colicky symptoms such as excessive crying and fussiness due to protein sensitivity
Generations of moms have put their trust in Similac
Some babies have long crying spells and cannot be easily comforted. This excessive crying or fussiness is sometimes called colic, and may be due to a sensitivity to the protein. Other symptoms such as severe diarrhea, rashes, and even sleeping problems also can be caused by protein sensitivity. Similac Expert Care Alimentum starts to reduce colic symptoms in most babies in just 24 hours. It's easy for sensitive babies to digest because its protein is broken down into tiny pieces to virtually eliminate allergic reactions in most babies who are allergic to cow's milk protein.

Your lips and mouth might start to itch, burn, or puff up slightly the moment you touch the stuff, or you might get blisters in the back of your throat. Someone looking at you won't notice this happening, but you'll definitely feel it. The minute the milk hits your stomach, you might get stomach spasms (yes, spasms) and/or searing heartburn, which REALLY HURTS, and unless you're doubled over in pain or spitting up-- which you may or may not be, depending on the day-- you can't really explain it to people, so you start to think maybe its just normal to feel this way. Within 24 hours, you might start to get rough, scaly patches of skin on your face or body. If you're a baby, your butt might turn flaming red. If you're lucky, these will resemble rashes, and someone will say "food allergy." If you're NOT lucky, the doctor will say you have eczema and prescribe something, or your parents will waste money on every brand of diaper and cream on the market, trying to get rid of...
Shame on you. When I had to transition from breastmilk to formula, I researched the best hypoallergenic available. It was a toss up between Enfamil's Nutramigen and your Alimentum. Over and over again, Alimentum was touted as the superior product. It was expensive, but what my child needed. By expensive, I mean very expensive. Blog after blog, message board after message board, moms and dads were writing--begging--for a way to get this formula at a more affordable price. Most insurances do not cover this, even though it is medically necessary for several families. When asked, you encourage families to sign up for coupons and free samples. However, this particular formula (one of your most expensive) seems to be conspicuously absent from any of your discounts or special offers.
So we bought the formula at full price. 16oz for $29.99. $29.99 for, conservatively, five days of food. But families do what families have to do. And we decided to make it...
Just wanted to say that my son was premature and had severe reflux and allergies to the milk protein. This formula was better than any other, even the Neocate. Just a side note, the liquid formula IS different than the powder. The liquid formula doesn't contain corn solids and the powder does. I had my son on the powder and he would arch and pull away after two ounces (his twin sister could take about 5-6 ounces at this point and his weight was much less than hers). I switched to the liquid and he sucked it down like he hadn't eaten in months. It's very expensive but totally worth it in our circumstance! The only reason it doesn't get five stars is b/c, yes, it has a horrible smell... but he likes it so I don't really care what it smells like!
